5 GOLDEN RULES OF SHOPPING

365 Days of Thoughts by Blonde

Long time ago I was working at retail fashion stores like Banana Republic and Cache. It was a great experience; it helped me to learn about pricing, quality of fabrics and branding. I created my own “shopping philosophy” and notice one interesting thing – Most women have two problems “Nothing to wear” and “NO room in the closet” ☺))

  1. Build your wardrobe with love – I rare go shopping or buy something. I almost never buy random stuff. Every item I buy I have to be emotionally attached, it has to make me believe it was made just for me to make me feel special. That’s why my wardrobe is relevant small. However, everything what hangs there I absolutely love. It’s easy for me to dress up and look good everyday, because I have no “junk” items in my closet.

Sunday Spa feature – Indulgent Hand Mask

scentedabode

Orange Blossom Water

Since all the gardening and washing up have taken their toll on my hands, this is the perfect indulgent treatment to bring some much needed mositure back to them.

This indulgent handmask is so simple and quick to make.

As I have some Rolled Oats in the cupboard, this made the base for the mositurising hand mask.

I have simply added a tablespoon of lavender flowers to 3 tablespoons of the rolled oats and blended them together with the electric hand whisk to produce a fine powery mix.

If you don’t have an electric hand whisk, then grinding the oats and lavender flowers together using a Pestle and Mortar will also release the lovely lavender scent and infuse it with the oats.

Oats are known to help sooth and heal the skin, reducing inflamation and soften skin. They have been clinically shown to help heal…

“Revolution” (Originally Shared on Facebook March 10th, 2015)

The Kronikler

“The Lord our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions.”

– (Deuteronomy 29:29, NLT)

There is not a Believer on the face of this planet who has it all figured out. We are a people who comprise a spiritual Body that is operating more effectively in the mortal realm the more it is inspired by immortal truth. Today’s world poses specific questions to the Christian that s/he can contest only to a specific degree, not because an answer does not exist, but because that answer has been veiled from our knowledge until an appointed time. It’s human nature for us to seek to rationalize everything, as we tend to be inclined to conditions and circumstances that favor…

The body’s effect on the mind

Mind Chirp

energy_medicine_mind_body_spirit

There is little doubt that setting aside at least 30minutes each day for mindful meditation has immense health and wellness benefits. However this alone does not guarantee feeling fully restored of energy and at our bests. There are many factors indirectly related to meditation that boost our daily functioning.

1) Sleep– Getting a good night’s rest is essentially. At least 7 hours of sleep ensures we are alert and aware during the day. Sleep deprivation leads to lowered concentration and a weaker immune system. Without sleep, we cannot properly function and feel healthy. Try to coordinate your sleep cycle with daylight hours for a bonus feeling of restiveness. Go to bed when it gets dark and wake-up right at dawn. You’ll find getting out of bed much smoother.

2) Diet– There is a reason for the saying ‘You are what you eat’. If we fill our bodies with…

February 15th – Fixes and Expansion

my1stgrow

So after realizing that I had a somewhat significant bug problem, I went into full research mode, first trying to identify what they were, how worried I needed to be, and how to treat them if I needed to.  I posted on a local message board and a few different things were suggested.  I looked up all the suggestions, but none of the symptoms of those pests matched the symptoms I was seeing.  I decided at that point, that I just had plain ol’ gnats.  How did I get gnats?  Not sure, but I know I contributed to the situation by not having great aeration under the bottom of the pots, and was not letting the soil dry out enough between waterings.  I was giving them an ideal breeding ground, so while I may have brought one or two in with the clones, I made it worse by my actions. …

Midterm Stress

c h e l s f a n g

This week has been stressful to say the least. Three midterms, two all nighters, 15 cups of coffee, a pack of highlighters and two packs of sticky notes later, it’s temporarily over. I’ve been so much more productive and on top of my readings since second semester has begun and I thought it would be helpful to try and share some of my best tips:

1. Use a Calendar/Agenda/To-Do list: You’ll be amazed at how much this will keep you on track (I happen to use all three). I like keeping my calendar as one of the desktop screens on my Macbook so I can always flip to it quickly during class to record important dates and deadlines. I also keep an agenda in my bag at all times. I love planning out my week ahead of time, this is especially practical for figuring out when readings need to be…
